THE BAND
Malcolm Wood is a passionate performing Artist and Educator. He is the Artistic Director for the Brisbane Jazz Club. Having performed with a host of amazing internationally renowned Artists such as Jerry Lewis , Tina Arena , David Campbell, Sophie Monk , John and James Morrison , Hugh Sherridan , Grace Knight, John-Paul Young , Kamahl, Mal believes that connection is the most important part of sharing music. Some favourite festivals Mal has performed at have been the Sydney Jazz Festival , Byron Bay Blues Festival , Broadbeach Blues Festival , Woodford Folk Festival , Broadbeach Jazz Festival , Brisbane International Jazz Festival and Brisbane Festival .
Michael "Flash" Manikus, musical director/pianist also known as The Human Jukebox for his ability to play anything, across every music genre. Michael spent 11 years touring internationally with The Ten Tenors, in various roles including band leader and co-musical director, pianist, percussionist and co-arranger. He has also toured with Jimmy Barnes, Mirusia, Busby Marou and the Queensland Pops Orchestra (among others).
With 25 years' professional musical experience under his belt, Mark has enjoyed a career which has included playing in many different genres with well-known Artists such as Guy Sebastian, James Morrison, Dami Im, Victor Wooten and Tony Royster Jrn. Also a prolific song-writer, Mark recently won the 2019 Queensland Music Award for his EP, "The Sound of Light".
Darran is a professional Musician, Producer, Music Director and Educator. He has toured internationally and nationally with artists such as Guy Sebastian, Evermore, The Ten Tenors, James Morrison, and Grammy winner, Henry Seely, played on more than 500 Recording Sessions for commercially released albums, TV jingles and Short Film Soundtracks. As a teacher Darran has over 25 years experience and has performed many workshops and clinics in Australia and overseas. Darran proudly endorses Yamaha Drums, Paiste Cymbals and Vater Drumsticks.
